How it works

Data becomes analysis. Analysis becomes action.

A dashboard gives you more data to interpret. Fleet management gives you a decision to make. Here's how we get from your existing systems to that decision.

Step one

What we need from you

Onboarding is largely about access, not new equipment. Typically, we need:

  1. Tracker login or API access
  2. Vehicle register
  3. Driver list
  4. Fuel card data
  5. Relevant maintenance history
  6. Signed proxy documentation, where required for licensing administration
Drivers also use SALT's own driver app to log fuel fills, odometer readings and maintenance receipts directly from the field — live, ground-truth data alongside whatever your tracker already records.

Step two

What SALT does

We consolidate and review fleet information on an ongoing basis. We monitor:

  • Driver behaviour
  • Vehicle utilisation
  • Fuel
  • Servicing
  • Maintenance
  • Licences
  • Recurring costs
  • Exceptions

Step three

What management receives

Actionable fleet information, not raw telemetry. That includes:

  • Vehicles requiring attention
  • Driver behaviour concerns
  • Abnormal fuel usage
  • Maintenance trends
  • Upcoming services
  • Licensing actions
  • High-cost vehicles
  • Management recommendations

Why this matters

What most tracking tools give you

Data Dashboard

You get access to more numbers, more charts and more login screens. Interpreting what any of it means for your costs is still left to you.

What SALT provides

Data Analysis Action

We review the data on your behalf and translate it into specific, prioritised items your team can act on.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to change our tracking provider?
No. Where possible, SALT works with the tracking or telematics system you already use. If your provider offers API or login access, we typically work with that directly rather than asking you to install anything new.
How long does onboarding take?
It depends on how quickly we can get access to your tracker, vehicle register, driver list and fuel card data. Once we have that information, we can begin reviewing your fleet.
What if some of our information is incomplete or out of date?
That's common, and it's useful information on its own — an out-of-date vehicle register or missing service history is itself something worth flagging to management.
Do our drivers need to do anything differently?
Drivers use SALT's own driver app to log fuel fills, odometer readings and maintenance receipts as they happen. It's a short, simple habit at the pump or workshop — and it gives us accurate, current data that a tracker alone can't provide.
