Who we are

SALT Fleet Services ("SALT Fleet Services", "we", "us") is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website and through the delivery of our fleet management service, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What information we collect

Through this website, we collect information you provide directly, such as when you submit the contact form:

  • Name and company name
  • Email address and phone number
  • Approximate fleet size and current tracking provider (optional)
  • Any information you include in your message

As part of the fleet management service itself (separate from this website), we may process additional information provided by our customers, such as vehicle registers, driver details, telematics and tracking data, fuel card data and maintenance records. That processing is governed by the agreement in place with each customer.

Why we collect it

We use the information submitted through this website to:

  • Respond to enquiries submitted via the contact form
  • Understand the fleet in question well enough to have a useful first conversation
  • Maintain records of our communication with prospective and existing customers

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse, consistent with our obligations under POPIA.

How long we keep it

We retain personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal or contractual requirements
  • Object to certain processing of your personal information
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa
